Autumn and Halloween Decorating

Halloween is only 12 days away. If you haven’t started your outdoor decorating now would be a good time. In my eBook “How To Have A Fun, Safe, And Decluttered Halloween” I talked about extending the season. This is where you layer your decorations for Autumn, Halloween, and then Thanksgiving.

Many seasonal materials, such as colorful leaves, gourds, pumpkins, etc. can help create an Autumn feeling outside or inside your home. Halloween decorations can be added for a couple of weeks then taken down. Then you can add Thanksgiving decorations to the Autumn ones.

Here is an excerpt from the eBook, “How To Have A Fun, Safe, And Decluttered Halloween”.

“That bale of hay on the front porch can hold the Jack-0-Lantern and witch for Halloween and a grouping of colorful gourds, twigs, pine-cones, etc. the rest of the season. Many of these items are seasonal materials and don’t require any storage space the rest of the year. By combining the autumn decorations with the Halloween ones, your yard and home will feel more decorated. You will be able to set up the autumn decorations a few weeks before the Halloween ones. Then you will only have to put the Halloween ones away after October 31. This layering technique will make it easier to set up and take down in stages over a two month period instead of only a couple of weeks.”

  1. I think that is an excellent way to organize for the holidays, decorate and de-clutter all at the same time. I could just picture a beautiful front porch the way you described the decorations.
